WHAT IS CLIMATE CHANGE?
Climate change is a significant and lasting change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns over periods ranging from decades to millions of years.

WHAT ARE THE FACTORS THAT AFFECT THE CLIMATE?
Climate change is caused by factors such as biotic processes, variations in solar radiation received by Earth, plate tectonics and volcanic eruption.

WHAT IS THE TYPE OF CLIMATE IN BULACAN? SAN MIGUEL? 
The Climate of Bulacan as well as San Miguel is dry from November to April and wet from April to November.

DESCRIBE THE EXTENT DAMAGE IN THE AFFECTED AREAS OF TYPHOON GLENDA

• A total of 153 families or 536 persons were affected in Barangay 88 in Tacloban City, Leyte in Region VIII.
• A total of 5872 passengers, 33 vessels, 497 rolling cargoes, 11 motor banca's, and 26 vessels taking shelter were stranded at various parts.
• A total of 40 provinces/ cities / municipalities declared class suspensions in various levels in Region III, IV-A, IV-B, V, VII, NCR and ARMM.
• A total of 30 domestic flights and 4 international flights have been cancelled.
  
  WHAT IS THE INTERNATIONAL NAME FOR TYPHOON GLENDA?
  The International name for typhoon glenda is Rammasun.

COMPARISON BETWEEN TYPHOON GLENDA, HENRY AND INDAY
Typhoon Rammasun, known in the Philippines as Glenda, was a powerfultropical cyclone that had destructive impacts across the Philippines, South China and Vietnam in July 2014. It was the seventh storm of the season to be named by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). Rammasun is a Siamese word for thunder god. After Lingling and Kajiki earlier in 2014, Rammasun became the third tropical cyclone, and the first typhoon to directly impact the Philippines in 2014. The storm formed in the Intertropical Convergence Zone, an area near the equator where the northeast an southeast trade winds come together, and slowly drifted northwestwards.

Typhoon Henry has been assigned by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) to three tropical cyclones in the western Pacific.

Typhoon Inday has been used in the Philippines by PAGASA in the Western Pacific 2014's Severe Tropical Storm Nakri.

TSUNAMI

• Today I learned that TSUNAMI (plural: tsunamis or tsunami; from Japanese) "harbour wave"  is a series of water waves caused by the displacement of a large volume of a body of water, generally an ocean or a large lake. Earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and other underwater explosions (including detonations of underwater nuclear devices), landslides, glacier calvings, meteorite impacts and other disturbances above or below water all have the potential to generate a tsunami.Tsunami waves do not resemble normal sea waves, because their wavelength is far longer. Rather than appearing as a breaking wave, a tsunami may instead initially resemble a rapidly rising tide, and for this reason they are often referred to as tidal waves. Tsunamis generally consist of a series of waves with periods ranging from minutes to hours, arriving in a so-called "wave train". Wave heights of tens of metres can be generated by large events. Insights and Reflection about Low Pressure Area (LPA)

Insights and Reflection about the cold front

• Today I leraned that cold front is defined as the leading edge of a cooler mass of air, replacing (at ground level) a warmer mass of air, which lies within a fairly sharp surface trough of low pressure. It forms in the wake of an extratropical cyclone, at the leading edge of its cold air advection pattern, which is also known as the cyclone's dry conveyor belt circulation. Temperature changes across the boundary can be as much as 30°C. When enough moisture is present, rain can occur along the boundary. If there is significant instability along the boundary, a narrow line of thunderstorms can form along the frontal zone. If instability is less, a broad shield of rain can move in behind the front, which increases the temperature difference across the boundary. They are stronger in the fall and spring transition seasons, and weakest during the summer. When they catch up with the preceding warm front, the portion of the boundary which does so is then known as an occluded front.

Insights and Reflection about the Desiderata

Low Carbon Diet Journal ( September 3-9, 2012)

              This week the weather is more good than bad because this week is always cloudy and sunny than rainy. I conserved energy in many simple ways.

In School: 
 * Proper waste disposal
 * Collecting of plastic bottles
 * Turning off the lights when the sun is bright
 * Using of correction instead of slashing the sheet of paper

In our Home:
 * Using of glass when brushing my teeth
 * Using of my money wisely
 * I usually walk when going nearby places.

Insights and Reflection about the Typhoon Signals

• Today I learned the different typhoon signals:

Typhoon Signal No. 1

         A tropical cyclone will affect the locality. Classes are suspended for pre-school and primary  levels.Winds of 30-60 kph may be expected in at least 36 hours or intermittent rains may be expected within 36 hours. (When the tropical cyclone develops very close to the locality

a shorter lead time of the occurrence of the winds will be specified in the warning bulletin.)

Typhoon Signal No.2 -

A disturbance is approaching. Stay indoors. Classes are suspended for pre-school, primary and elementary. Winds of 60 - 100 kph. may be expected within 24 hours.

Typhoon Signal No. 3 

                  A disturbances is dangerous to locality. Everybody is advised to stay home. Classes in all levels are automatically suspended. Winds of 100 kph. to 185 kph. maybe expected within 18 hours.

Typhoon Signal No. 4 

Very strong winds of more than 185 kph. maybe expected within 12 hours.
