- Today I learned that the El Niño phenomenon is an abnormal weather pattern caused by the warming of the Pacific Ocean. It is characterized by extreme climatic changes - world-warming along South America, torrential rains in North America, extreme temperature rise and drought in Southeast Asia and Australia. El Niño occurs every two to seven years. While La Niña phenomenon is usually described as a cooler than average sea surface temperature of the Pacific Ocean. It phenomenon is known to occur every few years in this area and beyond, and it is known to last anywhere from a few months to as long as two years or so.
- I will apply my learnings and insights in sharing information about this phenomenon in my everyday life, for me to become aware.
- Learning about this phenomenon are important because if we do not know what are the effects of this phenomena how can we able to prepare ourselves in such situations like this.
- On a larger scale, I will share my learnings in these phenomena to help others be aware and for them to be prepared on the things that might happen during this phenomena.
- I need to know more about El Niño and La Niña because I want to know more information about this phenomenon for me to be easier to share to others what I had learned.
